James Dudley joined Boulder Ventures as Principal in 2019.
Prior to Boulder Ventures, and while completing his MBA, Mr. Dudley ran CU Boulder’s Deming Center Venture Fund, a seed-stage investment fund focused on Colorado-based companies, for 2 years. He also held an associate-level position at Ridgeline Ventures, a Boulder, CO-based fund investing in natural food and active lifestyle brands. Prior to that he spent 6 years in engineering and business development roles at several startups in the San Francisco Bay Area and Boulder, Colorado, including Tesla (SF Bay Area) and Acroname (Boulder).
Mr. Dudley holds an MBA from the CU Boulder Leeds School of Business (2019) where he graduated top of his class, an MS in Mechanical Engineering (Mechatronics) from Stanford University (2011), and both a BA (Archaeology) and a BS (Mechanical Engineering) also from Stanford University (2010).
In addition to finance and engineering roles, Mr. Dudley has worked as a professional brewer and ski instructor, both in Jackson Hole, WY.
