Althea Acquires Tricycle Day to Expand Access to Trusted Psychedelic Education and Care

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Boulder, CO and Austin, TX — Althea, a public benefit company building infrastructure for regulated psychedelic therapy, today announced its acquisition of Tricycle Day, the leading independent newsletter focused on psychedelic education.

The acquisition brings together two complementary efforts working toward the same goal: helping people responsibly find their way to psychedelic care. Althea provides compliance, payments, and care-navigation software for licensed facilitators and centers operating in state-regulated programs, while Tricycle Day has built one of the most trusted audiences for thoughtful, accessible psychedelic education.

Founded by writer and analyst Henry Winslow, Tricycle Day reaches tens of thousands of readers each week and is widely regarded as a leading voice in the psychedelic space. Winslow will join Althea as President, helping to guide Althea’s consumer education and demand strategy, while continuing to lead Tricycle Day’s editorial voice.

“Tricycle Day and Althea have always been two sides of the same coin,” said Niko Skievaski, co-founder and CEO of Althea. “Both exist to help people approach psychedelics thoughtfully, safely, and responsibly. Bringing these efforts together allows us to better connect education, readiness, and access as legal pathways continue to expand.”

Legal access to psychedelic therapies is growing rapidly in the United States. State-regulated psilocybin programs are currently operating in Colorado and Oregon, with New Mexico expected to launch next year with psychedelic bills pending in more than a dozen states. At the federal level, shifting drug policy signals, including the recent rescheduling of cannabis, alongside multiple psychedelic-derived compounds advancing through late-stage trials with the FDA, suggest a broader transformation underway.

As access expands, Althea aims to play a central role in shaping how people navigate this emerging landscape by providing trusted infrastructure, practitioner support, and care navigation rooted in safety and accountability.

Importantly, Tricycle Day will continue to operate as an independent editorial voice. Its newsletter, tone, and perspective will remain intact.

“What makes Tricycle Day special is its humor and humility,” said Winslow. “That doesn’t change. What does change is our ability to help more people move from curiosity to informed, responsible engagement with psychedelic care.”

The acquisition reflects Althea’s broader strategy to integrate education, infrastructure, and access as psychedelics move from the margins toward regulated and mainstream adoption.
